Dr. N. Ramesh Babu
Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras
Dr. Ramesh Babu received his PhD from IIT Madras in the year 1990. His research interest includes Manufacturing Technology, Grinding, Abrasive Waterjet Machining, Sheet metal fabrication, Laser Beam Machining, CNC, PLCs & Robotics, Precision Machine Tool development, Process modeling and Simulation of manufacturing systems. His publications include 61 International Journal Papers and 104 National/International Conference Papers.

Dr. Sathyan Subbiah received his Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology in the year 2006. He works as an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras. His interest is in the area of machining (i.e breaking and removing unwanted regions). He is also interested in the broken material that comes out of this process. His current research activities include explorations in tribo-emissions, graphene exfoliation, grinding and powder fabrication.

Dr. Sivasrinivasu Devadula received his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras), India in 2008.
His research interest includes in particular – machining of 3D-surfaces on advanced engineering materials (super alloys, shape memory alloys, high entropy alloys, diamond, engineering ceramics, engineering composites), abrasive waterjet machining, novel tool path strategies, optimization, process modelling and simulation of machine tools.

Dr. Piyush Shakya received his PhD from IIT Delhi in the year 2010 (Data fusion based diagnosis and prognosis of ball bearings). His research interest includes Diagnosis and Prognosis, Structural Health Monitoring, Machine Elements (Rolling element bearings and gears), Signal Processing. He worked as Research Fellow in School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, Cranfield University, Cranfield, U.K. prior to joining IIT Madras. Currently he is working as Assistant Professor in IIT Madras.
